About Me

Hi!

I’m Johan Haleby and in this blog, I write about technology and code-related topics that interest me. I’m into open source and have created several popular libraries on the Java platform (for example Occurrent, Powermock, Rest Assured and Awaitility). I like learning new things and I have experience in different languages such as Java, Kotlin, Clojure, Scala, and Groovy. Writing code is something that I’ve been interested in for as long as I can remember but I also very much enjoy software architecture and working closely with the business. I strongly believe that you have to understand the business in order to create good software and make correct tradeoffs. Speaking of code, I would mainly consider myself a backend developer who doesn’t shy away from the frontend if need be.

Besides software, I’m also intrigued by philosophy, cognition, mathematics, and science in general.

You can find me at Twitter, GitHub and LinkedIn.
